5. D-Law taking charge

DeMarcus Lawrence decided before the game that he needed to take charge. He’s the biggest name on the defense and he hasn’t been putting up the numbers he expects out of himself. However, he got a little extra motivation when the Eagles head coach decided to all but guarantee a win over Dallas.

"“We’re going down to Dallas and our guys are gonna be ready to play … and we’re gonna win that football game, and when we do, we’re in first place in the NFC East,” Pederson said via Angelo Cataldi of 94WIP Radio"

Pederson tried to put the toothpaste back in the tube by saying he wasn’t guaranteeing anything, but the damage was already done. He lit a fire under Lawrence and he was ready to prove the coach wrong.

"“You don’t got to worry about this week,” Lawrence said via Todd Archer of ESPN. “Doug Pederson already done called us out, so y’all know what it is. Thank y’all.”"

It didn’t take long for that to happen as Lawrence recorded a strip-sack on the Eagles’ second possession, which set Dallas up with the ball at the 14-yard line. The offense needed just two plays to score as they cashed in on the gift from Lawrence.

If Dallas wants to continue to win they need this fire every week out of No. 90. He was impactful even when not getting sacks as he was able to record a tackle for a loss in the running game as well. They need as much of that as they can get in the coming weeks.
