Washington Redskins (1-6) at Minnesota Vikings (5-2)

Thursday, October 24, 8:20PM ET

It may be time to take this Minnesota Vikings team seriously. After some early-season struggles on the offensive end, the Vikings have racked up three-straight wins and are jelling as a team. It seems reasonable to imagine they’ll increase that win streak to four games in Week 8.

It’s not just Minnesota’s current hot streak that has be expecting success for the squad on Thursday night. It’s also the fact that they’ll be facing the Washington Redskins at home, which is a recipe for success all by itself. The Redskins’ only win this year came against the miserable Miami Dolphins, and they’ve been embarrassed in just about every other contest.

Suffice it to say, the Vikings should get the best of Washington in the friendly confines of U.S. Bank Stadium. The Redskins offense has been inconsistent at best this season, currently sitting at 28th in the league. Going up against Minnesota’s exceptional defense, I don’t imagine they’ll enjoy much success on a short week.

Kirk Cousins is playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL right now. Against the Redskins’ subpar secondary, I wouldn’t expect that to suddenly change. Between his passing and Dalvin Cook doing his thing on the ground, the Vikings should cruise to a win in this one.

Prediction: Vikings win 34-14
