Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford (DET vs. NYG, $6,100): Ty Johnson‘s fantasy stock won’t be the only beneficiary of the Kerryon Johnson injury. Perhaps the coaching staff will remember that the Detroit Lions are paying Stafford $27 million per year to do more than just hand the ball off.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Jacoby Brissett (IND vs. DEN, $5,600): Brissett has a tough matchup on paper, as the Denver Broncos have allowed the third fewest passing yards per game of any team in the league. However, the 26-year old North Carolina State product has quietly been one of the most consistent fantasy quarterbacks around, throwing for two or more touchdowns in all but one game this season, one in which he scored with his legs instead.

Don’t expect another four-touchdown game, but a high floor is a near certainty.

Mason Rudolph (PIT vs. MIA, $5,300): Rudolph completed 24 of 28 passes and threw a pair of touchdowns against the lowly Cincinnati Bengals, which can mean only one thing. The long-overdue JuJu Smith-Schuster Get-Right Game is upon us, starring Rudolph as the conductor against an embarrassingly bad Miami Dolphins defense.

Ryan Tannehill (TEN vs. TB, $5,100): If you were to tell me two months ago that three-fourths of my recommended Week 8 quarterback starts would begin the season as backups, I would’ve taken away your peyote and sent you to bed. Yet, here we are. Tannehill’s competence under center has breathed new life into the Tennessee Titans aerial attack, and few teams are as susceptible to the pass as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A cheap Tannehill/Corey Davis stack could net quite a bit of cash this week.
