4. Adams shines with 100-yard day in return

Prior to missing four games with a toe injury, Davante Adams was looking primed to break out. After torching the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 for seven catches and 106 yards, he had a pedestrian game against the Broncos. Up against the Eagles in Week 4, though, he was downright unguardable for much of the game.

In that contest, Adams was targeted 15 times and hauled in 10 receptions for 180 yards on the day. He was seemingly getting open at will, as you’d expect from one of the most dangerous route-runners in the NFL. Even crazier about that line, though, is that Adams was not on the field late in the game as that’s when the toe injury occurred.

Though he’s been listed as questionable leading up to Week 9, Adams is expected to play against the Chargers. With that being the case, I expect him to come back in a big way. Though Los Angeles’ pass defense has been solid, the combination of Rodgers and Adams is another beast to contend with entirely. Not only will Rodgers be looking for his go-to guy now that he’s back but Adams will surely be hungry as he gets back on the field.

As he returns to action, we should see double-digit targets for Adams and his quarterback will connect more often than not when looking his way. When the clock hits triple-zeroes, Adams will have finished the game with at least 100 receiving yards and, perhaps just as impressively, his first trip across the goal line this season.
