Kansas City Chiefs (8-4) at New England Patriots (10-2)

Sunday, December 8, 4:25PM ET

My how the mighty have fallen. It feels like only weeks ago all of the talk around the NFL was about how unstoppable Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were. While I’m still a believer in their contender status, there’s one thing that has me questioning their Super Bowl potential.

It’s Brady. I’m sorry, but age is finally catching up to the GOAT. I’m not sure if maybe he’s hurt or something else is going on, but he hasn’t been himself for the last few weeks. As a result, the Patriots offense hasn’t been nearly as dynamic, and the New England defense has been forced to shoulder more of the burden. The results have been mixed.

Now the Kansas City Chiefs come to town looking to bolster their resume before the playoffs begin. And based on what we’ve seen from them lately, there’s no reason to believe they can’t put a hurting to the Patriots — even on their home turf.

Yes, Patrick Mahomes hasn’t quite been an MVP candidate since his return, but he’s still one of the NFL’s most exciting young quarterbacks. He’ll make just enough plays on Sunday to keep the Chiefs in charge, while the Kansas City defense finds ways to force Brady into difficult situations — with turnovers and inaccurate throws being the ultimate result.

Prediction: Chiefs win 34-27
