2. Eight combined sacks

The Panthers have a great pass rush. The Seahawks have a terrible pass rush. That’s the simplest way to explain the difference between these two teams in that facet of the game. Carolina has the second-most sacks in the NFL with 47. The Seahawks have the third-fewest with 23.

It should be a sack-fest on Sunday. Defenders only sack Kyler Murray more often than Allen, who has hit the deck 44 times this season. Likewise, Russell Wilson always faces pressure. The veteran quarterback was sacked five times in Week 15 alone and is already at 40 sacks taken in 2019.

This prediction leans on the Panthers to carry the sack total, but the Seahawks are still capable of getting to Allen two or three times. Carolina is capable of racking up five or six sacks easily, considering the team has five players with at least five sacks and seven with at least four.

Seattle’s pass rush is pathetic in comparison. No Seahawk has four sacks this season. Jadeveon Clowney, Rasheem Green, and Mychal Kendricks are tied for the team lead with three. Only Clowney has more than ten quarterback hits. Four Panthers have at least ten quarterback hits.

In a clash of weak pass-blocking offensive lines, all kinds of weird action is possible. Sunday’s game might get sloppy, considering how much pressure each quarterback will face.
