Minnesota Vikings: Positives and negatives from 2019 season
3. Positive: Cousins, Cook put together solid seasons
First out of the gate, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and running back Dalvin Cook putting together solid seasons for the purple and gold. Cousins and Cook led things offensively for Minnesota throughout the course of the entire season, taking nice strives individually that in return boosted the team in helping it make a return to the playoffs at the conclusion of the regular season.
For Cousins, the veteran quarterback managed to finish the 2019 campaign with a total of 3,603 yards passing with a completion percentage of 69.1 percent in 15 games.

Cousins finished the year with 26 passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and threw for just six interceptions, which is the lowest season total the quarterback has tallied since the 2012 season in Washington.
Cook, who was healthy for nearly the entire regular season for really the first time in his three-year NFL career, emerged as one of the top running backs in the league and led things in the ground game for Minnesota this year.
Cook played a huge role in helping the Vikings come out on top in a matchup week-in and week-out when he took the field, wrapping up the season with a career-high 1,135 rushing yards on a career-most 250 carries in 14 appearances. Cook also recorded 13 rushing touchdowns on the ground and even tallied a career-best 53 receptions through the air with 519 receiving yards out of the backfield.
Moving forward, it will be important for the Minnesota offense to see both Cousins and Cook continue to make steps in the right direction and put together solid performances like they did in 2019 if the Vikings want to continue to improve in the 2020 campaign and beyond.
When the duo of Cousins and Cook are thriving within the offensive group, this Vikings team takes things to the next level and has the ability to be one of the top units in the NFL.
