5. New York Jets

Even though there is no way of knowing how different things could have been for the New York Jets last season if Sam Darnold didn’t deal with mono at the beginning of the year, but at least the team has plenty to look forward to in 2020.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Not only has Darnold displayed all sorts of potential at times over his first two NFL seasons, but the Jets as a team ended 2019 on a high note by winning six of their final eight games.

This may not seem like the biggest deal in the world, but when seeing how New York started the season off with a 1-7 record, it shows why the Jets are considered a team with the potential to make the serious leap to contender next season.

Of course, if the Jets want to be in better position to help pull this off, it wouldn’t hurt to bring on an additional weapon like Green for Darnold to work with in the passing game.

Every football team knows the importance of building the best offense possible around their beloved quarterback, and if Green were to become part of the picture in New York, Darnold would most likely see his game elevate to new levels.
