5. Mike Iupati (Age: 33)

Mike Iupati has been a dependable offensive guard in the league since 2010. He was the San Francisco 49ers’ first-round pick (17th overall) and played there for five seasons. He then played for four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before spending last season with the Seattle Seahawks.

Iupati has the experience to walk in and become a leader for the Chicago Bears. He’s played in some big games in his career and has 10 playoff games under his belt.

Another way to say Iupati has experience is to say he is old. He’ll be 33 when the season begins but he showed in 2019 that he can still be effective enough to help a team, especially the Bears.

Iupati is the kind of guy who can step in and be the leader the Bears offensive line needs. He’s been through just about everything. He can still play well and he can come in on a one or two-year deal. He can play in 2020 and mentor whoever the Bears draft this year. He could also help someone like Alex Bars, who would be now two years separated from his knee injury. He has talent and Iupati can be of great help. Also, at Iupati’s age, he wouldn’t break the bank.

The Seahawks would still like to keep Iupati but they have a stable of good young linemen. They are pretty set and are ready to have their young guns take over. The Bears could set up a situation just like that. Iupati helped the young Seahawks develop and he could do the same for the Chicago Bears.
