5. AJ Dillon, RB, Boston College

After the dominance Derrick Henry has displayed over the past two seasons, teams are likely to look for a back with a similar playstyle, size and athleticism. Look no further than Boston College’s power back AJ Dillon.

His Combine numbers were amazing as he led all backs in the broad jump and also jumped out of Lucas Oil Stadium with a 41-inch vertical. To top that off, he ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash at 247 pounds. His Combine numbers are near-identical (and better in some areas) to Henry’s.

The Combine testing numbers are just a small piece of the puzzle. Dillion looked smooth in drills and showed he has just enough flexibility to change directions. He steps onto the field with veteran qualities thanks to his college career where he started three seasons, rushing for 4,382 yards with a 5.2 yards per carry and 38 touchdowns.

Dillon isn’t a fit for every scheme; he’s a one-gap power runner who’ll bring tenacity to an offense. Dillon is a plug and play wrecking ball who will set the tone for an offense and punish defenders. If teams miss out on the top backs, Dillon would likely be available in the third or fourth round and could see the field with successful results right away.
