Thanks to the surprising news surrounding Tom Brady moving on from the New England Patriots after 20 seasons, the AFC East champions will now need to figure out the next step of determining who their quarterback will be moving forward.

Knowing Bill Belichick and company, the Patriots most likely have a few serious candidates in mind worth considering, whether it happens to come through free agency in the next few days or the draft in April.
Over the years, Belichick has convinced numerous players looking to turn their career around to come to New England, and if Newton were to be the latest individual to join that list, this could work out great for both parties.
Obviously, Newton is nowhere near the same level as Brady, but if Belichick were to find a way to help him return to the level from a few years ago, the Patriots would have nothing to lose in this situation.
Even if Newton were to come on as a backup as an insurance policy to another starter, his experience alone would still make this an intriguing option for New England to consider since the offense will be going through all sorts of adjustments with Brady no longer around.
