NFL Free Agency 2020: 5 Best landing spots for Devonta Freeman
5. Houston Texans
The first team that could be on the market to look to add a running back such as Devonta Freeman in free agency is the Houston Texans.
After all, basically everything head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien has done this offseason in Houston has been surprising, so the potential addition of Freeman wouldn’t be the most shocking move of the offseason for the Texans.

O’Brien kicked the offseason off for Houston by trading away star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for some draft picks and Cardinals running back David Johnson. Talk about an interesting trade.
At first glance, you are probably wondering why Houston would now want to end up adding another running back to the mix even after adding Johnson as the teams assumed starting running back in 2020.
When it comes to Freeman, he and Johnson could be a solid one-two punch out of the backfield for the Texans to counter what Houston quarterback Deshaun Watson is able to do both on the ground in the running game and through the air in the passing attack.
Johnson isn’t what he once was in the NFL, so maybe O’Brien acquired him with the hopes of also bringing in another running back to pair alongside Johnson in the ground game for the Texans.
If Freeman is able to be signed by a team at a relatively decent price, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see O’Brien and company try and look into adding Freeman to the fold before the start of the 2020 season.
