5. Jordan Love, QB, Utah State

The Packers have at least four more seasons of Aaron Rodgers leading the team at quarterback, but the time to start planning for the future at the position is coming very soon. Rodgers, who turned 36 years old at the end of the 2019 season, is under contract until 2024 when he’ll be 40 years old.

Green Bay has tremendous flexibility in developing a future starter, which is why NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah picked the Packers as the best team fit for Utah State’s Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft. Here’s what Jeremiah had to say:

"I won’t be shocked if Love goes in the top 10. I also won’t be surprised if he falls to the bottom of the first round. Grades are all over the place on the Utah State product. He is the most talented natural thrower in the entire draft. … He will need some time to sit and develop, but the payoff could be huge."

If one of the big-name quarterbacks falls to the Packers at No. 30, the team has to take a shot, right? Love is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2020 NFL Draft but doesn’t come without risk. Maybe if he has time to sit and learn behind Rodgers, he’d be battle-ready eventually. In his three seasons at Utah State, Love recorded 8,600 passing yards, 60 touchdowns and 29 interceptions while completing 61.2 percent of his passes.
