58. 2. Ohio State. Chase Young. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE

If there is a blockbuster trade in the 2020 NFL Draft, it would likely happen here. The Washington Redskins say they’re ready to roll with Dwayne Haskins, and they should be. With that being the case, they’re not taking someone like Tua Tagovailoa out of Alabama.

However, someone else might want to jump to No. 2 to grab him. However, in this mock, we aren’t doing trades so the Redskins stay put and grab the best player on the board in Chase Young. Another Ohio State pass-rushing stud, Young was a dominant force that commands double-teams according to Alex Gilstrap of NFL Mocks.

"On the field, Young is a dominant force. You either double-team him or you lose, typically. He threatens offensive tackles inside with his strength and hands. He threatens them around the edge with his ridiculous speed and athleticism. There really is no way of consistently beating him one-on-one. His explosiveness out of his stance almost always gives him a head-start and when you have the physical gifts that he has with a jump on the ball, it’s hard to beat him."

This could lead to the end for Ryan Kerrigan in Washington but it’s hard not to get pumped about pairing Young and Montez Sweat as edge rushers. That could put them in contention for being one of the best duos in the entire NFL.
