Denver Broncos add weapons on both sides in 7-round 2020 mock draft

Courtland Sutton made a massive leap from his rookie season to year 2 and is one of the better young receivers in the league. Outside of him, however, the wide receiver corp in Denver needs some work around their breakout pass-catcher.

Diontae Spencer and DaeSean Hamilton both have their share of believers in terms of their potential. While that may be true, the fruits of that potential have not been on display yet in the NFL and it’s right to question whether they can be difference-makers in the Denver offense.
Brandon Aiyuk, however, could be that. The Arizona State product is explosive, looking like he’s shot out of a cannon off the line of scrimmage. He’s also a great route-runner that showcases the same suddenness out of his breaks but also has nice technique and the ability to sell.
Additionally, Aiyuk’s quickness and solid speed make him a nightmare for defenders after the catch. Throw in some rare measurable traits with his long arms on his frame and he’s a dangerous weapon waiting to be unleashed.
So even though the Broncos pass on a Round 1 wide receiver, they end up still getting a playmaker in the second round. Aiyuk would pair quite well with Sutton and give Drew Lock a receiving duo he could grow with.
Other Players Available: Marlon Davidson, Tee Higgins, Laviska Shenault
