18. player. 849. Scouting Report. Mekhi Becton. Pick Analysis. OT. Louisville

I know what you’re thinking. “There’s no way Mekhi Becton will be here!”

More from NFL Spin Zone

Heck, the chances that he falls past No. 11 are slim. But with the NFL Draft, you never know. Few people saw tackle Jawaan Taylor falling out of the first round last year. Remember Laremy Tunsil’s shocking draft day slide a few years back?

Obviously, I’m not saying that the same situation will occur this year; I’m saying the draft is extremely unpredictable. This is a best-case scenario for the Dolphins and one that likely contributed to this being the winning mock draft on Twitter.

After all, Miami needs major help along the offensive line. Signing Ereck Flowers at guard and Ted Karras at center is not enough. Personally, I don’t mind the Dolphins leaving the draft with four offensive linemen because they could use at least three new starters.

While Becton would be a delicious treat at No. 18, the likelier player to fall is tackle Andrew Thomas. There’s still a legit possibility he is also gone by the New York Jets’ selection at 11, but out of the top four linemen, Thomas is the one more likely to fall on draft day.

Another possibility is Miami making a trade up to secure one of the top linemen. Moving from 18 to, say, 9 is far cheaper than moving from 5 to 1.
