Minnesota Vikings: 5 Biggest needs to address in 2020 NFL Draft
5. Quarterback
The first position the Minnesota Vikings could look to address during the NFL Draft comes at the quarterback position. Quarterback isn’t a huge need, or at least not an immediate need, for Minnesota prior to the start of the 2020 campaign, but it could be a position it tries to shore up later on in the draft.

On Day 3 of the draft, the Vikings could look to select a quarterback to back up veteran Kirk Cousins on the depth chart for the purple and gold. It would be surprising to see Minnesota pick a quarterback, but it also would be surprising if it decided not to draft a quarterback at all as well.
Earlier this offseason, the Vikings decided to re-sign quarterback Sean Mannion, who served as the back-up to Cousins on the depth chart during the 2019 season. Mannion, who will turn 28 years old at the end of April, started one game last season after signing with Minnesota prior to last year.
Mannion started one game for Minnesota a season ago, that being the Week 17 regular-season finale when he completed 12 of his 21 passes and threw for 126 yards in the final game before the postseason.
Mannion is a decent back-up option behind Cousins and in front of third-string quarterback Jake Browning, but the Vikings could ultimately decide to go with a younger quarterback in the draft if there is a player who interests them in the later rounds.
