Green Bay Packers: 5 Late-round gems to consider in 2020 NFL Draft
By Joe Kipp
The Packers have a need for depth at the cornerback position. Three-year veteran Kevin King is an unrestricted free agent in 2021 and has been frequently injured during his career. Jaire Alexander is a budding star, but he’s also the only reliable starter on the team.

Long-time veteran Tramon Williams remains an unrestricted free agent, so the best remaining players on Green Bay’s depth chart are Josh Jackson and Chandon Sullivan.
Michael Ojemudia would give the Packers a great option at the back end of the depth chart at a great price – possibly in the fifth round (late-fourth if they trade up) – and would be a key contributor on special teams. The former Iowa Hawkeye is long (6-1, 200) and athletic, but doesn’t have the refined technique, particularly in press coverage.
Defensive coordinator Mike Pettine loves athletic cornerbacks capable of playing straight man-to-man coverage. Ojemudia was deployed in zone coverage for the majority of his snaps at Iowa, but his length and athleticism suggest he could be a solid press-man corner if he lands with the right coach.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, Ojemudia ran 4.45 in the 40-yard dash, hit 36 inches in the vertical leap and posted a 6.87-second three-cone. He was named second-team All-Big Ten in 2019 by the Associated Press and finished his career with six interceptions and 17 passes defensed.
