Round 4 (No. 142 Overall): Antonio Gandy-Golden, WR

With the 142nd overall pick, Washington selected Antonio Gandy-Golden out of Liberty. Gandy-Golden is a wide receiver — and a massive one at that. Listed at 6-4 and, 223 pounds, the standout for the Flames gives the Redskins a ton of size in the passing attack.

The Redskins had a few needs heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, many pointing out their need in the secondary. However, getting as many weapons as possible for Dwayne Haskins was an absolute need.

Gandy-Golden isn’t the fastest receiver in the draft by any stretch of the imagination. He’s big and athletic though. And his hands are a plus. At the very least, he adds nice depth. Expect more than that though.

Washington’s top three receivers last season were Terry McLaurin, Steven Sims Jr. and Kelvin Harmon. Harmon was the tallest of the three at 6-2. McLaurin is 6-0 and Sims Jr. is just 5-10. So size was definitely a need.

Gandy-Golden gives Haskins a big body to throw to. And his athleticism makes that big target even bigger. It’s hard to complain about that. Fantastic value pick.
