Logan Ryan: 5 Teams who should sign free-agent cornerback
4. Philadelphia Eagles
Trading for Darius Slay answered a huge need for the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason. The former Lion should come into the City of Brotherly Love and be the player who they’ve been lacking in the secondary for the past few years and a player who can fit what defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz likes to deploy in the secondary. However, he’s not enough.

Though there is some talent among the Eagles defensive backs, the simple truth is that Philadelphia has no one proven at the position. Philly won the NFC East a season ago and certainly has eyes to do the same once again in the 2020 season. Signing Logan Ryan in free agency would ultimately help them accomplish that goal and pair well with the Slay trade.
3. New York Jets
After cutting Trumaine Johnson this offseason, the New York Jets secondary is an issue that many people don’t seem to be talking about enough. Right now, they would be starting Pierre Desir an either Arthur Maulet or rookie fifth-rounder Bryce Hall. In any case, this group could be a real problem for the Jets as they try to take a step forward in the second year under head coach Adam Gase.
While Logan Ryan might not be a replacement for any of those players on the boundary, he would alleviate some woes in the secondary with his ability to cover in the slot. The Jets have rightfully been focused on improving the offense this offseason. Having said that, if their defense is a disaster, the offense won’t matter, meaning Ryan could help them truly take a step forward.
