Week 1: Packers at Vikings

While I remain dubious of Minnesota’s defense after losing Everson Griffen and Linval Joseph. However, Mike Zimmer has continuously had this team in a good spot on that side of the ball and should be able to rebuild the secondary and improve there. Moreover, the offense may have some new life with Stefon Diggs out. Playing at U.S. Bank Stadium, Green Bay starts off the season 0-1.

Prediction: Loss

Week 2: Lions at Packers

There’s nothing we’ve seen to this point from Matt Patricia to prove that he’s a good coach. While he may be under a ton of pressure with the Lions this season, they are mismatched against the division rival Packers. Their offense can’t contend with the Smith Bros. while the rebuilding defense could still get torched by Rodgers and Green Bay’s offense.

Prediction: Win

Week 3: Packers at Saints

Coming off of their 1-1 start to the season, the Packers are back on the road and traveling to the Big Easy. As mentioned, if Rodgers is motivated by the Love pick and perceived disrespect, he could be out for blood against the rest of the league. But while that may help him keep things close against Drew Brees and the Saints, New Orleans just has more weaponry to work with — especially at home.

Prediction: Loss

Week 4: Falcons at Packers

There’s no question that the Atlanta Falcons should be much improved. They’ve worked on their defense and the offense, though it’s had ups and downs, figures to be good for some time still. But even then, it’s hard to imagine this team has come along enough to be able to go to Lambeau early in the season and beat the Packers.

Prediction: Win

Green Bay then gets an early bye, taking off in Week 5.
