Pittsburgh Steelers: 3 Dream trade targets from Packers before 2020 training camp
By Dan Parzych
3. Marquez Valdes-Scantling
Throughout the career of Aaron Rodgers, the future Hall of Famer has a reputation for the most part of making the receivers around him better, although the last few years have been a little more difficult than usual.
Minus Davante Adams, Green Bay has been waiting for one of the younger receivers to become more consistent targets for Rodgers to work with in the passing game, but unfortunately the results haven’t exactly been there.

While the argument can be made that Marquez Valdes-Scantling doesn’t exactly deserve to be part of this category as a former fifth-round pick in 2018, the opportunities have been there for the wideout to step up.
In two seasons of action, Valdes-Scantling only has 64 catches for 1,033 yards and four touchdowns, making it difficult to understand why this would be viewed as a “dream target” for the Steelers since the Packers would most likely make him available with the right offer.
However, the potential factor is what could be key here for Green Bay since as great as Adams has been over the years, the offense may not want to give up on someone like Valdes-Scantling if they have the ability to step up.
Coincidentally, the Steelers are in a similar situation as the Packers where they need more consistent play at the wide receiver position beyond JuJu Smith-Schuster since the former USC star is still learning himself about handling the responsibilities of a No. 1 option.
Players like James Washington and Chase Claypool will certainly have potential, but at least Valdes-Scantling would be able to provide some extra competition, and could even be in position to break out with a career year as a member of the Steelers.
