New York Jets: 3 Dream trade targets from Falcons before 2020 training camp
By Dan Parzych
2. Calvin Ridley
Jones may be off the trade table for obvious reasons, but would the Falcons ever consider giving up Calvin Ridley if a team like the Jets made an offer that was too good to turn down?
After agreeing to send Mohamed Sanu to the New England Patriots, Atlanta made it clear that Ridley was their new No. 2 option, and his numbers from the previous two seasons show what kind of potential the Alabama product displays for years to come.
Not only has Ridley benefitted from playing alongside Jones by catching 127 passes of his own in 29 games over the last two years, but the young wideout has also found the end zone a total of 17 times.
In other words, Ridley appears to be only scratching the surface of his true NFL potential, making it seem like it would take a miracle for the Falcons to even consider the idea of a trade.
But once again, since most players across the league tend to have some sort of asking price, just imagine how much Darnold would be able to elevate his game for the Jets if Ridley were to become one of the quarterback’s new favorite targets to work with on offense.
