Toughest Game No. 2: San Francisco 49ers, Week 2

The Jets drew the short straw when they got paired with the NFC West. Based on last season, San Francisco’s division is by far the most competitive in the NFL. The 49ers and Seahawks won over ten games while the Los Angeles Rams went 9-7 and barely missed the playoffs. The Arizona Cardinals look significantly better as well.

There’s a slim chance for Sam Darnold‘s squad to pick up a win in Week 2. The 49ers opened their season 3-0 last year, but the team didn’t get rolling until after its Week 4 bye. With rookies like Brandon Aiyuk and Javon Kinlaw replacing critical pieces of San Francisco’s NFC Championship team, the Jets could jump on an unprepared 49ers squad.

However, there’s also a more likely scenario where the 49ers crush the Jets by 20 something points.

Easiest Game No. 2: Las Vegas Raiders, Week 13

Last season, the Jets played spoiler to a late-season playoff push orchestrated by Derek Carr’s squad. In Week 12, New York decimated the Raiders in a 34-3 rout. Darnold threw for 315 yards and a pair of touchdowns while also carrying one across the goal line. The Raiders benched Carr by the end of the game for Mike Glennon, who subsequently fumbled three times.

The Raiders gathered several new pieces on both sides of the ball this offseason. Notably, the additions of Cory Littleton and Henry Ruggs should help Las Vegas. However, the team’s late-season collapse in 2019 shows there is more than just a player personnel problem in Las Vegas.
