3. Trade with Eagles for Alshon Jeffery

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a drastic transition in their offense as they have begun to follow the philosophy of “speed kills”. Veteran wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has noticed the team pushing him out the door as the front office looked to add younger and faster wide receivers.

Through the additions of TCU rookie Jalen Reagor, Marquise Goodwin and with DeSean Jackson returning from injury, the Eagles will be geared with a new look on offense, leaving guys like Jeffery looking in from the outside.

The veteran wideout experienced his lowest stats as a starter in his eight-year career after recording just 43 receptions off 73 targets (58.8 percent catch ratee) for 490 yards and four touchdowns. With all of this said, Jeffery would provide the Green Bay Packers with veteran leadership for a core group mainly consisting of receivers with less than three years of experience.

In 2018, the year before Jeffery suffered a foot injury limiting him to just 10 games in 2019, he recorded 65 receptions off 92 targets (career-high 70.07 percent catch rate), 843 yards and six touchdowns. Should he come back in 2020 being fully recovered of any injuries, it is likely that he would repeat the production that was seen in his 2018 campaign.

The overall cost for the wide receiver heading into his ninth year will be in favor of the Packers as injury and ranking on the depth chart have led to the decreased value in Jeffery. While there comes a moderate risk to trading for him, there is also an overwhelmingly high reward as well, giving Aaron Rodgers a true No. 2 option to throw to.
