5 Packers cut candidates sitting on roster bubble in 2020
4. Jake Kumerow, WR
Considering that the Green Bay Packers are clearly happy with their wide receiver group considering that the only way that they chose to address the position offseason was to sign veteran Devin Funchess, it might seem odd to find Jake Kumerow here as a possible cut candidate. However, the addition of Funchess might be what puts him on the roster bubble.

To be sure, Kumerow will get his opportunity to prove himself in training camp and the preseason. However, he has just 20 career receptions in 19 games over the past two seasons and, despite his lack of experience, is one of the older players on the roster at the position. Subsequently, that might make him the odd man out if the Pack needs to cut ties with a wide receiver.
3. Billy Turner, OG
Last offseason, the Packers selected Elgton Jenkins in the second round and, with an injury to Lane Taylor, the rookie got his shot to prove himself. As a rookie, the Mississippi State product proved to be a phenomenal addition to the offensive line, grading out as the 21st best qualifying guard in the league according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required).
Heading into the season, it looked as if Jenkins’ arrival might push Taylor out the door. But with the veteran guard taking a pay cut, I believe that makes Billy Turner the expendable player on the offensive line. When healthy, Taylor has been the superior player by comparison. And with some additions to the interior depth on the line via the draft, saving $2.85 million with Turner might behoove Green Bay.
