No. 5 NFL Offensive ROTY candidate: Zack Moss, RB, Bills

Pounding his way onto the list is former Utah running back Zack Moss. The name may come as a surprise to some. It makes sense to question the pick considering his 40-yard dash dropped his stock. Consequently, he was taken in the third round by the Buffalo Bills.

More from NFL Spin Zone

The former college star is going to a team with continuity up front and he doesn’t have to carry the load alone. Devin Singletary will be the man who’ll take on receiving duties for the Bills. Moss will undoubtedly be the back who’ll carry the ball the most.

When the Bills are in the red zone, guess whose name will get called? Zack Moss. The running threat of Josh Allen will help Moss when they run RPOs as well.

Moss has the power to wear defenders down and set the tone for the offense. Despite his 5-9, 222-pound frame, the former Utah power back has excellent wiggle in open space. His creativity and vision after he breaks the line of scrimmage is second to none. Moss can make defenses pay in several ways which could quickly earn him the hot hand where he carries the ball 20 times or more.

Don’t be surprised if he averages over 4.5 yards per carry and comes up with nine rushing touchdowns, over 800 yards rushing and a surprising usage rate as a pass-catcher. Sounds to me like he’s an ideal NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate.
