5. Danielle Hunter and Eric Kendricks

Madden 21 rating: 89

Two players tied for the fifth spot on the Vikings as far as player ratings awarded by Madden 21 leading into the start of the new season.

Although Minnesota defensive end Danielle Hunter and linebacker Eric Kendricks both come in with an overall rating of 89, Hunter slightly edges Kendricks just based off of some of the other ratings within his profile.

Hunter, who will enter his sixth season in the NFL and with the Vikings in 2020, received ratings of 88 in speed, 90 in acceleration, 81 in strength, 85 in agility, 94 in awareness, 83 in tackling and 88 in jumping ability, to list a few.

During the 2019 season, Hunter played in all 16 games for Minnesota while tallying 70 combined tackles, career-high-tying 14.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, 22 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. The two-time Pro Bowler who is just 25 years old will have the large task of stepping up yet again to lead the defensive line during the new year this season.

Kendricks, who is coming into his sixth year in the NFL and with the Vikings during the 2020 campaign, received ratings of 84 in speed, 90 in acceleration, 76 in strength, 82 in agility, 94 in awareness, 89 in tackling and 88 in jumping ability.

A season ago, the Pro Bowl linebacker finished the year appearing in 15 games and recording 70 combined tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. The duo of Kendricks and fellow linebacker Anthony Barr in the middle of the defense will once again be a key for Minnesota in 2020.
