4. Will the defense be among the best in the league?

There is a lot of hype around the Saints defense and rightfully so. Years ago, that statement would have seemed ludicrous. With some new player additions and the hiring of Dennis Allen, the Saints defense has a lot of promise. However, things started to break apart when the unit was under pressure. Heading into 2020, the New Orleans defense has a chance to prove they’re above their old struggles and that being under pressure is going to motivate them rather than derail them.

Ultimately, the question is if the Saints defense will be among the best in the league? They have all of the pieces to make it happen so will they make the jump in 2020? It’s very possible as the defense is getting guys back from injuries, welcoming some veterans and has a lot of guys on the cusp of a breakout year.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Everything is working in their favor as long as the defense can get over their hump of not making plays when it counts most. By the end of the 2020 season, we should definitely have an answer to this question and we can hope it’s the answer we want.

3. Will Tom Brady be the Saints’ biggest challenge in 2020?

This next question is one a lot of fans have been pondering. Obviously, the NFC South looks a lot different than it did last year. In particular, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers now have Tom Brady as their starting quarterback.

With Brady being the leader of the Bucs now, will he pose the biggest challenge for the Saints? The biggest question is if the Saints will be able to defeat Brady and remain NFC South champs?

This question is no doubt going to be discussed all year. While the Saints are the seasoned favorites, the Bucs have the potential to usurp them. The Saints have a clear advantage, though but Brady is on par with Brees. It’s a valid question, though as Brady has always caused problems for the team. Their last meeting in 2017 saw the Saints bested by Brady and losing by 16 points which is almost unheard of.

Overall, things are going to be different in the NFC South and it’ll be interesting to see how and if the Saints can adjust to the changing landscape.
