2. Week 16 at Los Angeles Rams

The final two games of Seattle’s season could decide where the Seahawks place in the NFC West and the conference. The Rams lost a lot of pieces this offseason and probably won’t compete at the same level they have over the past three years. However, Los Angeles always plays competitively within the division. No win comes easy in the NFC West.

Last season, the Seahawks and Rams split their two matchups. Seattle picked up a 30-29 win in Week 5 on a Greg Zuerlein 44-yard missed field goal in the game’s final moments. Los Angeles rebounded with a convincing 28-12 win in Week 14. Despite benefiting from two interceptions, the Seahawks didn’t score an offensive touchdown.

Since the start of 2017, the Seahawks are 2-4 against Sean McVay’s team. Most of the games are closer than the Week 14 drubbing, but Los Angeles hangs on to win most times. The loss of Todd Gurley and several critical defensive players could finally swing the rivalry in favor of Seattle.

The Seahawks clearly have the superior roster in this rivalry. Maybe the Rams have an advantage at wide receiver and along the defensive line, but every other unit points in Seattle’s favor.

The Week 16 matchup against Los Angeles becomes even more important when examining Seattle’s Week 17 opponent.
