Stud: QB Patrick Mahomes

He remains arguably the most dangerous quarterback in the league, which is obviously a very subjective statement. But watching Kansas City Chiefs’ hurler Patrick Mahomes toy with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night was something to see.

More from NFL Spin Zone

He made a variety of throws and spread the ball around, from sidearm deliveries to shovel passes. He connected on 31 of his 42 throws for 385 yards and four scores, connecting with wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman, fullback Anthony Sherman (via that aforementioned shovel pass) and tackle eligible Eric Fisher for touchdowns, and he opened the scoring for the team with a three-yard scoring run.

Stud: DT Chris Jones

There’s a reason than Kansas City Chiefs’ general manager Brett Veach and the organization made sure they locked up the productive defender long term earlier this year (via NFL.com’s Kevin Patra). Defensive tackle Chris Jones played a huge part in the team’s Super Bowl LIV win over the 49ers by harassing San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in the fourth quarter and swatting down his passes.

In Monday night’s at Baltimore, Jones finished with five tackles, a pair of sacks and two forced fumbles. The Ravens managed a mere 228 yards of total offense and Baltimore running backs managed only 75 yards rushing. Steve Spagnuolo’s unit is playing tremendous football.
