Chicago Bears: 3 Bold predictions for Week 4 vs. Colts
3. The Bears stop the running game…finally
While the Chicago Bears’ pass defense has done a great job, the run defense has some holes. Eddie Goldman opted out of the season due to COVID-19 concerns. In his absence, opponents have gashed the Bears’ run defense.

Goldman was an excellent run stuffer and very underestimated. We see now how linebackers Roquan Smith and Danny Trevathan are having a harder time against the run without Goldman. Bilal Nichols is Goldman’s replacement, but he is still learning the position.
The Bears defense takes advantage of the Colts’ running game. They rank 14th in rushing touchdowns and 23rd in average yards per run. Running back Jonathan Taylor is only averaging 3.8 yards per run.
If the Bears can stop the Colts’ running game it puts more pressure on quarterback Philip Rivers. He does not move much in the pocket so if there is pressure, he’ll give the secondary opportunities for turnovers. The Colts offense ranks 20th in interceptions.
There is a good defensive tackle going around planning visits around the league. His name is Damon Harrison, aka Snacks. He’s also shown some interest in joining the Bears. If the gashing continues, Chicago needs to seriously consider signing Harrison.
Prediction: The Colts running game finishes with 78 rushing yards and loses a fumble. With the pass rush on Rivers, he throws two interceptions.
