Green Bay Packers: 5 Bold predictions for Week 4 vs. Falcons
4. Green Bay Packers defense racks up 5+ sacks on Ryan
If there’s been one area of concern from the perfect 3-0 start in Green Bay, it’s been with the performance of the defense. Despite having three victories to their credit, the Packers are giving up an average of 28.3 points per game over that span. That’s a testament to the offense, to be sure, but doesn’t speak highly of the defense either.

While that may be true, the Packers pass rush has remained a strong-suit on that side of the ball. Za’Darius Smith continues to shine with 2.0 sacks on the season already but he’s not alone. Kingsley Keke also has started a possible breakout campaign strong with 2.0 quarterback traps of his own and four other players have been in on a sack as well this year.
Despite the prolific nature of the Falcons offense, the blunt fact of the matter is that their offensive line remains a bit of an issue. They have injuries persisting in the trenches and Matt Ryan isn’t exactly the picture of mobility. Thus, there is the potential for opposing pass-rushers to get home and bring him down on several occasions.
Though Smith and Kenny Clark are listed as questionable for Monday’s game, the latter is expected to return to the lineup and it doesn’t seem as if the former will miss time. With that duo leading the way and with the Falcons having to throw quite a bit, the Green Bay defense will bring Ryan to the turf at least five times on Monday.
