team. 30. . . Previous: 32nd. New York Jets. 32

At this point, the only question about the New York Jets is how their coaching staff still has a job — and this isn’t just Adam Gase we’re talking about anymore. Sure, Gase has done his typical running the team into the ground with his overbearing approach, but defensive coordinator Gregg Williams is also proving he doesn’t belong in the NFL.

To be fair, Williams is a great football mind. He knows how to coach a defense and he usually gets them playing better than their talent suggests. He also constantly has one of the dirtiest defenses in the league.

Williams, who was the key figure in the Saints ‘Bounty Gate’ scandal once again saw his team laying out some dirty hits — including a couple of late roughing the passer penalties when the game was already decided. At this point, it’s getting hard for anyone to defend Williams’ defenses for the way they constantly cross the line.

Other than the coaching issues, the roster in New York is bad — and some of that is due to the way Gase runs players off. He did it in Miami and he’s done it again in New York as he was part of the reason Jamal Adams was traded away. Once they do finally move on from Gase, there’s going to be a lot to fix in New York.
