New England Patriots: 5 Trade targets on offense at 2020 trade deadline
5. A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Oftentimes when it comes to the Patriots, we have seen them go out and acquire players who appear to not have much left in the tank or players who are on their final leg of their careers to try and squeeze out the last ounce out of them in New England.
The last case of that might come with current Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green, who was once one of the top wideouts in the entire NFL to only fade away over the last few years.

Green has spent the entirety of his nine-year career in Cincinnati, being selected to the Pro Bowl the first seven years of his career as a professional. Over the last two years, including this season, Green has taken a step back in his career and it might finally be time for the wideout to get a fresh start elsewhere for the first time.
Exiting Week 6 of the 2020 campaign, Green has appeared in six games for Cincinnati, hauling in 22 catches for 215 yards in an offense led by rookie quarterback Joe Burrow.
When it comes to Green, it’s clear the Bengals are starting to push other players into the starting role on the outside of the field with the likes of Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and others, which could continue to make it harder for Green to see meaningful playing time.
That might result in the team looking to move the 32-year-old veteran receiver at the trade deadline, and perhaps it would be worth the Patriots taking a flier on Green to see if he can contribute for the next year or two in New England.
After battling back from an injury in 2019 and appearing to be healthy so far in 2020, Green could try and prove himself as a solid wide receiver in this league and that he is still able to produce for a team on the outside of the field. And New England could likely get him for a cheaper price to see if that is indeed the case.
