3. Le’Veon Bell has a career day against the Jets

Last week, I believed Le’Veon Bell would outperform Clyde Edwards-Helaire. In this case, I was wrong. But Bell did have 39 yards on six carries. Doesn’t sound good but, given the fact that he is coming off an injury and it was his first game in a new scheme, he deserves a pass for this. Now is the real chance for him to explode.

The Jets defense is known more for their penalties and lack of attention to detail than they are in productivity. And given how motivated the Chiefs are to avoid another home loss and a potentially embarrassing loss, expect the offensive line to play at an angrier rate. When a line gets angry, the running back is licking his chops.

In 2016, Bell set a personal high with 236 rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills while being a member of the Steelers. It’s possible that he could eclipse that number in a game against the Jets even though the passing game will largely be clicking due to Patrick Mahomes hoping to remind why he still is one of the league’s best quarterbacks.

Bell wasn’t a happy camper with the Jets. Given their current state, who would be? Now he has a chance to show why he is still one of the league’s better runners instead of a broken-down version that was wearing green for the last two seasons.
