NFL Power Rankings, Week 9: Steelers alone in perfection, Cowboys find new low
By Randy Gurzi
Did any of us expect the New York Jets to get their first win of the season in Week 8? They were on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, which is a hard place for anyone to win, let alone a club that’s been as frustratingly bad as the Jets have. And this one was never close.

Kansas City was up 14-3 in the first quarter and 21-9 at the half as they simply kept the ball away for the rest of the game. And for people such as Justin Fried of The Jet Press, the loss was predictable. But he was also perplexed as to why New York won’t get some of their youngsters some meaningful snaps.
"“”But once again, the offense fell apart in the second half, and the team’s refusal to utilize rookies such as La’Mical Perine and Denzel Mims has undoubtedly reached a breaking point. Mims was targeted just three times including a spectacular 27-yard leaping grab at the end of the first quarter. He didn’t receive a single target in the second half. As for Perine, he was once again out-touched by Frank Gore who received two more carries than his younger counterpart. In a lost season, there is no excuse not to get Mims and Perine more involved in the offense.”” — Fried, The Jet Press"
Clearly, head coach Adam Gase has not been making friends this season and it would be a shock to see him on the sidelines for Gang Green in 2021.
