5. Aaron Jones, RB

The Packers offense is noticeably different when running back Aaron Jones is on the field. Jones missed two games with a calf injury in Weeks 7 and 8, and the difference was extremely noticeable. The star back has a unique style of running that just can’t be duplicated. It seems like Jones gets at least five yards every time he touches the ball.

In the midst of a contract year, Jones is making the Packers’ decision of whether or not to re-sign him extremely difficult. In six games played, Jones has 629 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns, an average of over 100 yards and one touchdown per game.

Jones is unique because he can catch the ball out of the backfield and split out wide in passing situations. Defenses can’t put a linebacker on him because he’s too fast, and they can’t dedicate a cornerback to him because that takes coverage away from a receiver. Simply put, Jones is a mismatch in the passing game.

Jones has undoubtedly been one of the Packers’ most important players through the first half of the 2020 season. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him eclipse 1,500 scrimmage yards for the second straight year.
