Yes, the Las Vegas Raiders lost on Sunday Night Football to the rival Chiefs. But if anyone is coming away from this game thinking negatively about Jon Gruden’s team, then they clearly weren’t watching. This is a team that is going to earn a playoff berth and has the chops to compete with just about anyone.

Carr played beautifully against the Chiefs, doing everything in his power to beat the AFC West rivals. Yes, he threw an interception in the waning seconds of the game but that was desperation time in any capacity. Otherwise, he threw for 275 yards with three touchdowns and made up for a largely ineffective rushing attack on the night.

And really, how much can you fault the Raiders for not being able to stop Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense in the two-minute drill? Las Vegas’ defense isn’t championship-caliber yet by any stretch and they were up against the reigning champs in a situation where they tend to thrive.

Las Vegas now has a win and a narrow loss to the Chiefs to their credit on the season, which says what you need to know about the silver and black. They may not be Super Bowl contenders but they are clearly a high-quality team.
