4. Jones bounces back with 100 total yards on the night

Another player who has been banged up as of late and is getting back into the flow of the Packers offense is running back Aaron Jones. But after a monstrous 2019 season and a strong start to this year as well, the UTEP product has not looked like himself totally as of late.

More from NFL Spin Zone

Against the Colts last Sunday, Jones’ rushing wasn’t part of the gameplan by necessity as a relative shootout ensued. He finished the game with only 10 carries, rushing for 41 yards and one touchdown on those touches. Furthermore, the running back caught all four of his targets for 30 yards.

The simple truth is that Jones hasn’t been the impact player we often expect him to be lately. In fact, the back hasn’t topped 100 total yards since Oct. 5 against the Falcons, making it almost two months since he’s hit that mark. Moreover, he also only has two touchdowns in the four games since then.

Expect that to change on Sunday Night Football. Not only will Jones be factored heavily into the passing game to help negate the Bears fearsome pass rush but, if the Packers are able to jump out to a lead, Jones will get to help salt away the clock. In doing so, he’ll find success on the ground and ultimately show us a return to form.
