New Orleans Saints. New Orleans Saints. 3. player. 15. . NFC South

The more we watch Drew Brees play this season, the more it appears that this is his swan song. He doesn’t air the ball out as much as he used to and he’s missed time with injuries the past two seasons. At 41 years old, it makes sense that Brees would be ready to call it a career.

That being said, the New Orleans Saints will need a quarterback for 2021 and beyond. Taysom Hill is fun and exciting, but he’s not the long-term answer for the Saints. Jameis Winston could have been an option, but with New Orleans opting to go with Hill instead, that shows they don’t view Winston as part of their future plans.

So, would Stafford be someone for New Orleans to consider? He’s nearly a decade younger than Brees, so the age wouldn’t scare them off like it would for some teams. He’d have an array of weapons ranging from Alvin Kamara to Michael Thomas to Emmanuel Sanders and that defense is the best in the league right now.

The Saints should definitely look to draft a quarterback in the first few rounds, but Stafford gives them the perfect stop-gap and he’d be in the best situation he’s been in throughout his long career. This is a good fit, but it all hinges on what Brees decides he wants to do and if Sean Payton is really set on Hill being the answer at quarterback.
