4. Micah Parsons, LB Penn State

The New York Jets need help everywhere, especially at linebacker. Their linebacker room’s lone bright spot was Neville Hewitt. The former Miami Dolphin proved his worth as a starter — but he needs help. Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons, is a worthy option for the Jets.

Parsons dominated from the moment he stepped onto the field. The former Nittany Lion wowed as a Freshman with 82 tackles and four tackles for loss. He followed up with a sensational Sophomore season finishing with 109 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and five sacks.

The 6-3, 245-pound backer has an elite skill-set ideally suited for an inside linebacker or stacked outside linebacker. He’s a tone-setter who plays with high intensity and speed. His first step is second to non once he’s locked in on his target.

Parsons flows through traffic and does a great job using his hands to keep himself clean. His ability to diagnose, stack-n-shed, and power at the point makes him an ideal downhill backer.

Additionally, his ability to fight off blockers makes him an excellent blitzer on third downs. His athletic traits provide potential as a coverage backer. Parsons could be for the Jets what Luke Kuechly was to the Carolina Panthers — he’s that good. If No. 2 is too rich, perhaps you’ll like it more in a trade down scenario.
