FanDuel Conference Championship picks: Wide Receiver

Wide receiver is most likely going to be what decides whether or not your lineups cash this week due to the lower variability of other positions. With the pricing of running backs this week, it is not hard to make room in your lineup for more expensive options at the wide receiver position and you can conceivably fit two players from the top tier.

The receivers in said top tier are Davante Adams ($8,900), Tyreek Hill ($8,400) and Stefon Diggs ($8,300). With the impact that these players have on their offense week-in and week-out, there is a very chance two of these players will end up being in the optimal lineup. Considering the small slate, you likely want to pair your stud receiving option based on your quarterback.

The next tier of wide receivers is all the Tampa Bay wideouts. All three are coming into Sunday’s matchup questionable, though Antonio Brown is the only one who will miss the game. Of all the Bucs receivers, I favor Chris Godwin at $6,800. Considering he plays a majority of his snaps in the slot, he will likely leave Jaire Alexander to cover Mike Evans ($6,600).

Even with the cheap salaries of running backs, you are still going to have to play a few cheaper receivers. I like both Allen Lazard ($5,700) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling ($5,500) as high-upside touchdown plays as if Rodgers throws 3+ touchdowns one of these two will likely have a big game. Play Lazard as a higher floor play but Valdes-Scantling if you have a safer lineup at other positions.

Similarly, Mecole Hardman ($5,300) saw four targets with Sammy Watkins out and can turn minimal targets into big games if Mahomes is back out on the field. Gabriel Davis ($5,000) is also an intriguing dirt cheap play that has seen at least four targets in eight straight games and has the same amount of touchdowns as Cole Beasley and John Brown combined on the year.
