2. Green Bay Packers sign Dalvin Tomlinson

There’s no question Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is aware of the team’s lack of depth along the defensive line. He claimed nose tackle Damon “Snacks” Harrison off of waivers before the playoffs last season and was apparently interested in trading for defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson.

Tomlinson, a former second-round draft choice by the Giants, has been extremely productive in all four seasons of his career thus far. Green Bay needs to get nose tackle Kenny Clark some help so that he isn’t double-teamed as much. Adding another large body like Tomlinson, who stands at 6-foot-3 and 320 pounds, would take a ton of pressure off Clark.

Tomlinson excels at stopping the run and has never had a run grade below 70.0 from Pro Football Focus (subscription required). Green Bay was much better at stopping the run last season when compared to 2019, but there’s still room for improvement.

Stopping the run isn’t the only thing Tomlinson can do though. The big man in the middle has posted back-to-back seasons of 3.5 sacks, including 19 quarterback hits during that span. Look no further than Tomlinson as a potential sidekick for Clark on the Packers defensive interior.
