NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: Rams offense is humming

It was a much-anticipated matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions. The Rams led by Matthew Stafford were set to face Jared Goff, who they traded away this offseason in favor of Stafford.

For Stafford, he was facing the Lions for the. first time after spending 12 years in Detroit. The former No. 1 overall pick from 2009 had a record of 74-90-1 in Detroit but he was often held back by the lack of elite talent around him. Now in L.A., he has a contending team but they were given everything they could handle by his former club.

The Lions were initially up 10-0 and then retook the lead 19-17 in the third quarter. However, Stafford ended up delivering as a five-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp put them ahead for good. Helping them seal the win was Jalen Ramsey who picked off Goff.

That led to a long drive from the Rams which ended with a field goal from Matt Gay to make it a two-score lead. Goff ended up throwing another pick as the Rams sent their former No. 1 pick home with a loss.

As good as Los Angeles has been, they’re still looking up at the undefeated Arizona Cardinals in the NFC West. Those two play again on Dec. 13 as the Rams will try and avenge their only loss on the season.
