Trevor Siemian’s run is over. The New Orleans Saints might have had the weirdest two-week stretch as they beat the defending world champs last week as Siemian came in for an injured Jamis Winston and led them to a huge win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Okay, so maybe it was more of the defense than Siemian. And in this one, Siemian was still strong with 249 yards passing and two touchdowns. Tasyom Hill also came in and was 2-of-2 for 33 yards but much of the damage was done in the fourth quarter as they scored 22 in a comeback attempt.

They even took a lead late when Kenny Stills scored on an eight-yard pass but the defense surrendered 64 yards on five plays leading to a go-ahead win. That was really the story of the day for New Orleans as their defense never had any answers for Matt Ryan who threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns on 23-of-30 passing.

New Orleans did shut down the running game as Atlanta had 34 yards on 25 rushes which allowed them to get back into the game but Ryan was a killer for them this week. Now at 5-3, they’re in a muddied-up NFC when they could have started to separate themselves in a race for a Wild Card spot.
