7th pick – New York Jets: Travon Walker, DL, Georgia

Pick Analysis. 7. 30. Scouting Report. DL. Georgia. Travon Walker. player

If Ikem Ekwonu is the fastest-rising offensive player in the 2022 NFL Draft class, then Travon Walker is probably the fastest-rising defensive player.

Dane Brugler of The Athletic really likes Walker, placing him 9th on his latest top-50 big board.

Walker was considered an elite prospect coming from the high school ranks and he’s proven some outstanding versatility on the vaunted Georgia Bulldogs defense, playing all over the defensive front and dropping into coverage at 275 pounds.

Along with the earlier selection of Derek Stingley Jr., Walker would help give the Jets another big-time athlete and playmaker for Robert Saleh’s defense and a potential cornerstone piece for this franchise moving forward.

8th pick – New York Giants: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss

Scouting Report. QB. player. 31. Pick Analysis. Ole Miss. Matt Corral. 8

If the New York Giants are picking in the top-10 again this offseason, it might be time to start looking to a different solution at the quarterback position.

The Giants have placed every egg they have in the Daniel Jones basket and it’s not working out.

Jones has shown some decent stuff in his three seasons on the job, but he’s also been a turnover machine.

The Giants here make Matt Corral the QB1 of this mock draft, and as the college football season progresses, it seems that is becoming the near consensus.

Corral is a dual-threat but he’s shown tremendous improvement in his accuracy to all levels of the field, and he’s got the playmaker gene.
