Teams that must regret passing on Gardner Minshew

1. New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints’ quarterback position has been an absolute shambles this season, the first of the post-Drew Brees era.

I’m sure they thought about calling Brees out of retirement at one point, especially after Jameis Winston went down with a season-ending knee injury.

Although Winston showed some signs of improvement, the former number one pick landed on IR and the Saints — a team with championship aspirations and a very good defense — haven’t been able to appropriately replace him.

Trevor Siemian was the first one called upon to do it, and the Saints took a slide down the standing with Siemian under center.

Taysom Hill came in and started against the Dallas Cowboys, providing anything but a spark at QB.

Having a player like Gardner Minshew sounds really good right about now for the New Orleans Saints, who have now lost five games in a row and find themselves at 5-7 with five games left to play.
