2022 NFL Free Agency Offense – Running backs

Running back, Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette was a top draft pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.  He’s been on the Buccaneers the past two seasons and has upside as both a runner, blocker, and pass catcher.

Fournette, even though his numbers aren’t eye-popping, can be the lead back for a team and carry the ball 20 times a game.  The Miami Dolphins make a lot of sense for Fournette, as do a team like like Kansas City Chiefs

Running back, Phillip Lindsay

A nice compliment to Fournette is Phillip Lindsay, who rushed for back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2018 and 2019.  Lindsay has 4.3 speed and actually excels at running between tackles.  Lindsay in a backup role behind Fournette forms a nice tandem.

Offensively, I think this group has potential.  I like the offensive line the most, feature multiple Pro Bowl level players.  The receivers are gritty, and the running backs are tough runners.

If in the right coaching situation, Trubisky can turn into a respectable mid-level starter, and this offense probably finishes around the league’s average units.
