Jaguars making questionable decisions in 2022 NFL offseason

Once again, the Jacksonville Jaguars are spending a ton of money in free agency.

They have made some solid additions, like the signing of guard Brandon Scherff, but they’ve also made a handful of head-scratching additions, like paying Christian Kirk a max value contract of $84 million and giving Zay Jones a contract that has a max value of $30 million.

They also made another awful move by releasing Myles Jack and replacing him with a lesser player on a much more expensive contract in Foye Oluokun.  I would also argue giving Darious Williams $13 million per year is a bad idea since he dropped off from 2020 to 2021.

I think both Kirk and Jones are worth about half of what they signed for, as their production does not match up with the deals they signed.

However, they are weapons for Trevor Lawrence, so perhaps this will assist in his development.

I do think that the team wasted a bit of money on some of these signings.
